It appears that Mort is mourning the loss of Noah's clothes in the last panel... awkward indeed.

the expression on his face showed that he was not only uncomfortable in front of him, but also somehow sad. maybe he's kind of ashamed of what he did.

What's left of his clothes is somewhere in Mort's digestive tract.
